Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Come Out Swinging at Marshall Invite
On the girl’s side, the team narrowly came in third place with a score of 56 points, only separated from the first place team by two points.
The top five finishers were freshman Quinn Natschke (2nd, 20:53), freshman Olivia Hubbard (10th, 22:02), senior Noel Nagy (13th, 22:26), sophomore Rachel Vogt (16th, 22:53), and sophomore Molly Chinavare (17th, 23:11). This was the best the women’s team has performed in several years.
The boys team finished first overall with a score of 26 points, beating the second place finisher by a wide margin of 22 points. The top five finishers were sophomore Gezahegn Starr (1st, 16:59), senior Tyler Robertson (3rd, 17:29), senior Lake Buseth (4th, 17:33), senior Tristan Keller (8th, 18:01), and sophomore Collin Patrick (10th, 18:17). Gezahegn Starr finished in first place overall, twenty seconds ahead of the second place finisher, which earned him a trophy.
The next meet for the teams will be the Lakeview Invitational at Riverside Elementary School on Sept 10.
